Millionaire Labour donor Dale Vince accused of seeking divorce in 'haste' to stop estranged wife from sharing any potential honour from Downing Street

An argument you would not usually see deployed in divorce proceedings, and certainly an interesting case.

Mr Vince is no stranger to the Family Courts having been one of the parties in the widely reported case of Vince v Wyatt which dealt with another unusual set of circumstances. That case addressed the paramount importance of securing a financial clean break on divorce as the parties had not done so and, decades after their divorce, and long after Mr Vince had made his fortune, his first wife was still able to pursue a financial claim against him. Perhaps of more relevance to many couples than arguments over titles!

During a High Court hearing, Kate Vince’s legal team suggested the multi-millionaire wanted the couple’s divorce rubber-stamped because he was likely to receive a knighthood or a peerage.
